Property Enhancement Grants

What is PEGS?

Solar Power GrantProperty Enhancement Grants, or PEGS, are grants that are available for a wide range of natural resource management activities. These activities include:

  • Fencing of waterways, lakes and swamps to manage livestock
  • Planting of native vegetation (both planting of tubestock and direct seeding)
  • Alternative or off stream watering. Funding is available for different forms of off stream livestock watering, including solar pumps, tanks and troughs and dams
  • Waterway blackberry/gorse control. Removal and control of woody noxious weeds may be funded if a waterway fencing and revegetation project is planned
  • Revegetation including planting of saline pastures
  • Rabbit ripping along waterways
  • Stock containment
Who can apply?

Landholders with more than 5 hectares of land located within the Wimmera Catchment region can apply for Property Enhancement Grants.

How much is available?

Pump GrantFunding does have a limit. Grants must be a minimum of $500, and up to $30 000. The average is approximately $6000 per job. However each site is assessed and funded according to the needs of the site.

Are matching contributions required?

Either in kind labour or additional cash to compliment and complete the project are required.

Any particular conditions?

Yes, there are conditions which vary, depending on the type of project. The landholder is able to view and discuss these prior to entering into an agreement.
