February’s Fabulous "Treehouse Tree"

Some great fun to be had with this month’s "Trees of the Wimmera"!

Jedi Knights Tommy Skywalker and William Vader, guard the entrance to the secret temple of the Jedi, on the planet of Gariwerd. This is Skywalker and Vader’s favourite tree because it can be used as the galley on the Millenium Falcon, the control deck on the Death Star and the Saloon bar on Tatooine (providing hours of entertainment) ‘Has anyone seen my Wookie?’

The photo and story comes from Bob Wallace and was taken on his Fyans Creek property - a giant Redgum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) that has stood many a battle over time.

The fantastic Tree house below is at the Wonwondah East on the property of Andrew Entwistle.

It was built 15-16 years ago for two little girls and featured everything that was required of a modern treehouse of the time.

Built in a fantastic, shady Yellow Box (Eucalyptus melliodora) on the banks of Burnt Creek.

It was built out of scrap materials with a flying fox down to the creek bank, fireman’s pole and a sand pit in the shade underneath.

Featuring a main room, bull nose veranda front and back and fantastic views of the Grampians in the distance - what more could a child want to wile away the hours and work on your imagination?!
