Living with Bushfire

Oct 09, 2017

Are you concerned about bushfires in your area?

Get the facts and stay safe this bushfire season at the Living with Bushfire Community Conference 2017.

Join the Victorian Emergency Management Commissioner Craig Lapsley, and other emergency industry experts and community groups on the 6 & 7 October in Ballarat.

You will have the opportunity to hear from leading industry experts, including fire ecologists, community emergency groups and community members, as well as gaining valuable and practical knowledge on bushfires.

The 2017 theme for the conference is “Working together for a safer future” and the two days will feature plenary speakers and concurrent workshops and presentations on many aspects of risk reduction, social, economic and environmental aspects of living in communities where bushfires are a possibility.

This conference is suitable for the community, emergency management organisations, decision makers, industry, researchers and community groups to come together to share knowledge and contribute to community resilience in the Grampians region and across Victoria.

The conference is a joint iniative of Federation University, Dept of Land & Water Planning, CFA, Local Governments, Forest Fire Management Victoria, Parks Victoria, and Victoria Police.

Registrations for the Living with Bushfire Conference 2017 to be held at Federation University Australia, Mount Helen Campus, Ballarat on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October are now open via the Eventbrite.
