  • How is it measured?
  • What results should I look for in my soil test?
  • How can soil carbon be lost?
  • How can you add carbon to the soil?

  • What can you learn from a soil pit?

The workshop will also include an on-farm soil pit session.

Your Presenter: Delcan McDonald, Regen Soils

Declan has over 30 years of experience in soil and horticultural management in a variety of roles in both public and private sectors. He has held senior roles in primary production with the NSW, Tasmanian, and Victorian state governments and was instrumental to the opening of the Victorian office of SESL Australia in 2014.

He established Regen Soils in 2020 and currently sits on the Victorian board of AORA(Australian Organics Recycling Association) as a technical adviser.

Soil organic matter (SOM) is Declan’s primary research area. SOM is the life-blood of soil and we must manage for this properly if we are to improve the health of our soils.

The focus of his work is to maximise the productive capacity of the soil through thepromotion of biological activity supported by carefully selected fertilisers and otherinputs. The aim is to provide farmers with tools to improve their land's condition, improve profitability, and reduce stress.

This event is a COVID safe event.
