Environmental flows for Burnt Creek and MacKenzie River ceasing this week due to cooler weather conditions and related lower evaporation rates. The need to recommence flow in these systems will be determined by weather conditions in the subsequent weeks. Flows for the Wimmera River are planned to conclude at the end of June and are unlikely to recommence until spring

Flows Cease over Christmas/New Year's Break

Flows are ceasing over the Christmas/New Year's Break across the system and will be recommencing for the Wimmera and MacKenzie Rivers and Burnt Creek early in 2019 with Mt William Creek flows starting later in January.

Low flows for Wimmera River

After several days of higher flows from Lake Lonsdale they are being reduced to provide flows for the Mt William Creek and Wimmera River. They will reduce further later in November when flows will recommence from Taylors Lake.

Flows for Burnt and Mt William Creek

Given the dry conditions, low flows have commenced for the Burnt Creek and lower Mt William Creek.

Flows recommence

Environmental flows for the MacKenzie River at Distribution Heads will recommence on Monday 17th September. A week later flows will recommence for the Wimmera River from Taylors Lake. They will continue to mid-October.

Conditions postpone releases

Small flows from local runoff as well as a need to retain water for future environmental flows given the very dry conditions mean that environmental flows are postponed until at least early spring.
