FISHING FOR INFO

Researching Yellowbelly breeding in the Wimmera River

We invite the community to participate in a research project involving a popular native fish – Yellowbelly.

We are enlisting the support of Wimmera River users fishing in areas around Horsham, Dimboola and Jeparit weirs to become citizen-science monitors and note general signs of fish spawning or fish aggregation. If your Yellowbelly catches contain eggs or the seminal fluid, milt, we would appreciate you uploading the details below.

We appreciate your time and feedback to help us in our research.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples across the region and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that this website may contain images of people who have died.
