Overlays and planning permits

Councils typically handle planning permits, and as such, they should be your first point of contact.

Councils will refer your application to Wimmera CMA for advice on the permit implications with respect to flooding.

Wimmera CMA Flood Advice Application

If you require information regarding a property’s potential for flooding, you can request information from the Wimmera CMA.

You can do this by one of the following options:

  • Complete a VicSmart application – see details below
  • Call us us (03) 5382 1544 and provide details on the property and/or location you would like flood information for.

Wimmera CMA will respond to you with a written letter providing details of whether your property is subject to flooding and to what extent.

VicSmart

If you are considering using VicSmart planning permit application, you may need qualified information from Wimmera CMA. 

Use the
VicSmart Application form (PDF) or
VicSmart Application form (word) to supply the correct details for Wimmera CMA to give you the appropriate information for your councils consideration in your application. 

You can submit the completed VicSmart form to planning@wcma.vic.gov.au
