Victorians in the state’s west are invited to help shape long-term water planning by providing feedback on the initial scope of the Western Region Sustainable Water Strategy.

The Scoping Paper is now available on Engage Victoria and is open for feedback.

This is the first opportunity for communities, Traditional Owners, stakeholders and the water sector to help shape the Strategy.

The western region covers around one-third of Victoria, as far east as Colac and as far north as Ouyen. 

It’s a diverse area with different industries, land uses, towns and settlements – each with their own role and impact on water resources.

Community input will help identify the issues, priorities and opportunities that should inform future water planning.

The Strategy will consider a wide range of current and future water needs, including those relating to cultural, environmental, community, agricultural and industrial uses.
