This workshop is designed to support farmers who have already calculated their farms emissions, providing opportunity to discuss next steps, including strategies for reducing emissions, supply chain opportunities and on-going emissions calculations.
Why should farmers attend?
New legislation requires large business and financial institutions to report their carbon emissions. Many global and national businesses have signed up to voluntary targets and emissions reporting. This means there will be increasing supply-chain demand to provide your farm’s carbon emissions.
Meet the Presenter
Dr Cass Schefe: is a highly qualified soil scientist and leading expert in farm emissions. Dr Cas has been working with farmers across Australia to understand their emissions profile and implement practice change that boosts productivity while reducing emissions.
Topics to be discussed:
- Farm emissions and their relationship to productivity
- External factors driving the need to track farm emissions
- Carbon neutrality vs carbon intensity
- Calculating emissions annually & the data required
- Definition of scopes
- Short, medium and long term options to reduce farm emissions and boost productivity
- Opportunities and risks
